Porcelain; the soft-paste body decorated in underglaze-blue and white with a scaly dragon in flight among dense cloud billows in pursuit of a flaming pearl, the base glazed Jingdezhen kilns, 1820-1860.

1820-1860

8.8cm

Provenance:
Hugh Moss (1978)

The extra height and unusually slender body have allowed the artist the space to expand the dragon and add large cloud billows which heighten the sense of movement.
