Dark brown dapples with pale brownish-orange glass of flattened form

1750-182

4.4cm

Provenance:

Hugh Moss (1985)

Description

Glass; of small size, the flattened body supported on a slightly recessed base, suffused with dark brown dapples sandwiched between a pale brownish- orange interior and a clear outer overlay.

A bottle of perfect form with a slightly concave base providing the finishing tactile touch. Although the pattern recalls tortoiseshell, it was not necessarily made with that purpose in mind.
